What are electro magnets?
Electro magnets generate a magnetic field by means of current. They have a coil through which an electric current flows, creating a magnetic field around the conductor. The conducting wire in the coils is wound over top of itself in many turns, making each winding loop act like a circular conductor. Many coils also contain an iron core to provide additional concentrated conduction of the magnetic field.

What is the holding force of electro magnets?
This depends on various factors such as size, design, application, and material use. Our standard electro magnets deliver a holding force of anywhere from 3 N up to 45,000 N.

What is the difference between electro magnets and permanent electro magnets?
In electro magnets, the holding force is only generated by supplying current. Permanent electro magnets, on the other hand, are permanently magnetic in the deenergized state and lose their holding force when current is supplied (can be used in a power-saving manner).
