What is a C-core magnetic core?
A C-core consists of a continuously wound strip of high-quality electrical steel or special alloys. After the winding process, the core is precisely cut to create two identical C-shaped core halves. When joined together, these form a nearly closed magnetic circuit.
This design significantly reduces magnetic leakage losses and enables a particularly efficient magnetic flux path. At the same time, defined air gaps can be easily integrated, making C-core magnetic cores ideal for transformers, chokes, and inductive components.
Compared to conventional EI-shaped laminated cores, magnetization losses are significantly lower. This not only improves efficiency but also often extends the service life of the entire system.
