Double Coil Solenoids
Double coil solenoids (also known as bistable solenoids) have two fixed stroke end positions. The end positions of these bistable solenoids are mechanically defined.
These linear solenoids are not fixed by a current supply, but with permanent magnetic force. All that is needed to reverse the polarity is an electrical impulse. Double coil solenoids are very commonly used in locking systems.
