What are rolling bearings?
Rolling bearings are a type of bearing in which rolling bodies between an inner ring and an outer ring reduce frictional resistance. They are used for fixing axles and shafts in place.
They can absorb radial and/or axial forces, depending on the design. Rolling bearings differ according to the type of rolling element (e.g. ball, roller, cylinder).

Where are rolling bearings used?
Rolling bearings are highly versatile and can be found in a wide range of applications (e.g. automotive, mechanical engineering, agricultural engineering, automation, medical technology and many other areas).

What is the service life of rolling bearings?
The service life of rolling bearings is determined by various factors, primarily by the corresponding operating conditions (e.g. loads, dirt, temperatures). Consequently, it is not possible to make a general statement. In principle, however, we can say that ball bearings can withstand around three billion revolutions – provided that optimum operating conditions prevail.
